The Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training wishes to inform all concerned that in view of the temporary restriction on the movement of persons imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, employers would be allowed to submit applications for the renewal of work permits held by non-citizens upon lifting of all restrictions. Such applications would however have to be submitted within a period of three months as from the date of the lifting of the restrictions. No payment of surcharge will be applicable only for applications submitted within the required three months.

All urgent matters pertaining to work permits for non-citizens as prescribed under the Non-Citizens (Employment Restriction) Act may be reported via email at emp@govmu.org.
