Farewell Message

As I prepare to retire from Government service on 25 June 2026 after 43 years of dedicated service, I do so with immense gratitude, pride, and appreciation for the remarkable journey I have shared with all of you.

My career at the National Employment Department has been guided by a commitment to serving the people of Mauritius through employment promotion, career guidance, and workforce development. Together, we have built more than an institution—we have created opportunities and hope for thousands of jobseekers while supporting employers, training institutions, and stakeholders across the country.

Throughout these four decades, we have achieved significant milestones, including the training of generations of Employment Counselling Officers, the conduct of labour market surveys, the advancement of gender-responsive policies, the modernization of Employment Information Centres through France Travail, and the strengthening of Mauritius’ engagement with international organizations such as the ILO, IOM, ARLAC, SADC, and other global networks. These accomplishments were made possible through the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of colleagues at every level.

Beyond these achievements, the most valuable aspect of my career has been the relationships built along the way. The trust, cooperation, friendship, and mutual respect shared among colleagues have been a constant source of inspiration and strength. I am deeply grateful for the support and commitment that I have received throughout my career.

I also express my heartfelt thanks to Almighty God for His guidance and blessings, to my parents for instilling the values that shaped my life, and to all colleagues, partners, and stakeholders who contributed to this extraordinary journey.

As I pass the torch to future leaders, I remain confident that the National Employment Department will continue to grow and excel in its mission of serving the nation. I encourage all staff to continue innovating, caring, and creating opportunities that improve lives and strengthen our society.

I leave public service with cherished memories, lasting friendships, and profound gratitude. While my professional journey comes to an end, the values, experiences, and relationships forged over the years will remain with me forever.

Thank you for your support, dedication, and friendship. It has been a privilege and honour to serve alongside you. May God bless you all and continue to bless the National Employment Department.

With heartfelt gratitude and warmest regards,

Director
National Employment Department
