Invitation to Private Firms-Training of Graduates in Engineering

As announced in the Budget Speech 2016-2017, Government has set up a Scheme for the placement of trainee engineers to enable the latter to qualify for registration with the Council of Registered Professional Engineers of Mauritius (CRPE). This scheme was extended to the private sector since March 2017. 

3.         This scheme provides for training for a period of two years during which trainees will be paid a stipend of Rs 23,975 monthly. The cost of the stipend will be sponsored up to 50% by the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training. Employers should be able to provide supervision to the trainees by in-house registered professional Engineers.

4.         Employers willing to participate in the above scheme in the different engineering streams such as Civil, Mechanical/Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics, Chemical and Aeronautical are invited to submit their request, preferably before 31 January  2018,  to  the
